History

Kings Island is presumably named for its distinct shape, resembling a chess board. A king is a chess piece.

A boat near the docks bears the inscription, "This island were fashioned by Akkhima."

In June of 2005, Lizthegrey opened both Kings Island and Oubliette Island as practice blockade islands. Blockade requirements for outpost islands on Ice were lowered to rumored fame, five minutes notice, and a 1 PoE war chest droppable at any time. Blockades would last one round each but two were required to win, thus leaving the island perpetually in the hands of the Ringers.[1]

In June of 2007 the island fell into the clutches of a Brigand King, Gretchen Goldfang of Jinx.

On June 29th, Blood Hunters successfully attacked and took control of the island, becoming the first player flag to control it.

The island has changed hands many times since then, due to several factors, including its special blockade status, scarcity of other available islands on the ocean, and its proximity to an inhabited supply island.

Due to a bug, the island is no longer blockade-able.
