Ix Chel is an outpost island in the Eagle Archipelago. There are two known routes from the island: to Hubble's Eye and an inter-archipelago route to Saiph Island in the Orion Archipelago.

History
A large rock next to some chalcocite at the tail end of the island reads, "This island were fashioned by Shantybones."
This island is named for a Mayan goddess.
The island featured in the 2008 Halloween events — during the event, pirates who visited the island would be turned into skellies, and it contained the second hint for solving Vargas the Mad's riddle.
This island was opened for colonization on 10 October 2009 via Artemis post seen here. It was pre-owned for colonization by the Brigand King The Widow Queen of the flag Black Veil.
Blockades
Ix Chel I, 2009-10-10: The Undertakers successfully took control of the uncolonized island from Black Veil, while contending against two other flags in a five-round sinking blockade.
Ix Chel II, 2009-11-01: The Undertakers lost control of Ix Chel to Swinging Pink Bananas in a three-round non-sinking blockade. Pay began at 500 Pieces of Eight a segment and stayed fair throughout the entire blockade.
