Matariki-Insel is an outpost island in the Orion Archipelago of the Opal Ocean. There are three well-known routes to this island; one from Chachapoya-Insel, one from Quetzal-Insel, and one from Aimiuari-Insel.
Natural Resources
The island produces two types of raw materials: iron and tellurium.
Origin
A concavity within the northern range of the centre of Matariki-Insel reads: "This island was fashioned by Thalatta". East of it is a mysterious broken column.
The island was named after the Māori word for the Pleiades star cluster. Matariki represents the Delta Orionis (δ Ori), which is the right-most star in Orion's Belt. The name of Matariki-Insel refers, in addition, to the new year of the Māori.
