Buyan's Vortice is an outpost island located in the Komodo Archipelago. There are three known routes from the island: Drogeo Island, Duat Island, and an inter-archipelago route to Threewood Island in the Draco Archipelago.

In Slavonic myths, Buyan is the island home of the north, east and west winds. Vortices are turbulent spirals of wind which tend to spin off sharp corners that point directly into the wind.
